Who We Are
CT Victims Against Victim is a grassroots organization founded by September Chatfield, after the affects of gun violence its home in 2008. Tyrek was just 7 years old when he and other bystanders were unintended targets were shot. Tyrek survived a bullet to the skull and has been an active voice in raising gun violence awareness, locally and nationally.
What We Do
CT Victims Against Violence Annual Holiday Event
In 2014, CT VAV held its first holiday event to honor families who've lost loved ones to violent crimes in Hartford, CT The event comprises of toy giveaways, music, good, activities, and performances that are free and open to the public.
Activism
CT VAV are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing the issue of gun violence. From building alliances with other organizations, such as Mothers United Against Violence, Inc. and other community organization to youth activism, spearheaded by Tyrek himself, we are in the community putting in the work to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
